Board Venue Policy

This page contains information on our Board Venue Policy and a link to the Policy document.
Updated: 21/05/2019 1:42 p.m.

Council is required by the Racing Act 2003 to have a Board Venue Policy.

This Policy only applies to stand-alone Board Venues, which are operated by the New Zealand Racing Board, commonly known as the TAB. It does not apply to pubs or clubs who provide TAB gambling opportunities.

As at May 2019 there are no stand-alone Board Venues operating in the Whangarei District.

Council completed the required three-yearly review of the Policy in March 2019 and determined that no changes to the Policy were required.  The Policy allows for a maximum of two Board Venues in our District.
