Summary
The Arts, Culture and Heritage Policy was developed in response to a range of recommendations included in a report - 'Tapapa Toi: The Cultural Seedbed' which Council endorsed in 2008.
It sets out Council's role and responsibilities in developing and supporting a flourishing arts, cultural and heritage sector in the District.
The policy includes the main recommendations of 'Tapapa Toi', but they are modified to match the resources that Council is able to commit.
It replaces the Arts and Culture Policy which was last updated a number of years ago.
