We are required to produce and regularly update a Long Term Plan (LTP). This plan must be reviewed every three years, with an Annual Plan developed in the years in between. The LTP outlines our activities for the next ten years, providing a long-term focus for decision-making.
Our 2012 -2022 Long Term Plan was adopted by Council in June 2012 and covers the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2022.
2013 amendment to the 2012-2022 LTP
Council’s administration functions are currently housed in three separate locations; Forum North, Walton Plaza and the Civic Arcade.
We have been looking at options to house all functions in one building. By doing so we could improve productivity, efficiency and provide a better service to customers while also eliminating duplication of functions in the operation of the three buildings.
Investigation of the options indicates that it may be prudent to consider allowing re-development of the Forum North complex of buildings. Whilst it is too early to make this initiative a part of this year's Draft Annual Plan, in order to continue making progress Council must, in accordance with section 97 of the Local Government Act 2002, signal its intention to sell or dispose of a strategic asset in an amendment to the current LTP.
This proposed amendment is included as a supplementary item in Part Four of the full Draft Annual Plan.
