Council wishes to coordinate Street appeals in the Whangarei District during 2018. Council invites applications from community organisations to apply for a preferred time to host a street appeal.
Notification of approved dates will be available by letter as publicised by the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand’s (FINZ) calendar.
The Council’s Street Appeals Policy 2005 is available on request and includes the following key points:

Street Appeals must take place during business trading hours Friday and Saturday mornings.
As much as possible, local street appeals will be aligned with the organisation’s National Appeal week.
There are special conditions relating to operating a stall or stand as part of the Appeal, and for collecting in the Cameron Street Mall.
Applications must be in writing, addressed to: Street Appeals, Customer Services, Whangarei District Council, Private Bag 9023, Whangarei 0148 and received by 4.30pm on Friday 26 January 2018.
