Due dates for the remaining instalments for the 2016/2017 financial year are:
Instalment Three: 20 February 2017
Instalment Four: 22 May 2017
The third instalment notice was sent on 23 January 2017. If you have not received this notice please contact Council. The date by which this instalment must be paid is 20 February 2017.
A 10% penalty will be added to all rates not paid by the due date. If you think you might have problems in paying your rates or meeting the payment deadlines, call us now. We would much rather sort it out before the payment is due and before you incur penalties for late, insufficient or non-payment.
Receiving your accounts
You can also elect to receive your rates invoices by email. Simply email email@example.com from the email address you want the invoice to go to. Please make sure you include Email Rates Invoice and your Property ID (which is on your rates invoice) in the subject line and we’ll do the rest. If you own multiple properties, send us a separate email for each property, or contact us on 09 430 4200 and we will ensure that your instructions for each property are updated.
Paying your rates
You can choose from several different methods to pay your rates in the way that best suits your household. These include by instalment, direct debit, online by credit card, in person, by automatic payment, by mail or internet banking. Please view the Paying Your Bill page on our website for more details.
Paying Your Bill
Our preferred option is direct debit - Sign up for hassle-free, direct debit payments made from your bank account. Rates are due quarterly but can be paid by direct debit weekly, fortnightly or monthly, as well as on instalment due dates or annually for the full year’s rates.
Once signed up you never have to worry about forgetting your payments again. As you can’t forget, there will be no more penalties for late or non-payment.
To apply, simply contact us and staff will organise the necessary documentation.
Direct debit calculations ensure your annual rates for the 2016/2017 financial year are paid in full by 22 May 2017. We recommend starting your weekly, fortnightly or monthly direct debit early in the year to spread the payments.
