​Review of Liquor Management Bylaw 2011

In accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act 2002 and the Local Government (Alcohol Reform) Amendment Act, Council has reviewed its expiring Liquor Management Bylaw. 

Whangarei District Council is now proposing to make a new Alcohol Control Bylaw.

Council adopted a Statement of Proposal on this matter on 30 August 2018. 

Copies of the Statement of Proposal, including submission forms, are available from 5 September 2018 in hardcopy and you can view a copy on the Alcohol Control Bylaw page on our website. (link below)

Hardcopy documents may be inspected at Whangarei District Council Service Centres at Forum North, Rust Avenue, Whangārei; Ruakaka Service Centre, Takutai Place, Ruakaka; Whangārei Central Library, Rust Avenue, Whangārei; Kamo Library, Kamo Road, Kamo; Onerahi Library, Commins Road, Onerahi; Tikipunga Library, Paramount Parade, Tikipunga. 

The Statement of Proposal includes detailed information on how interested parties can present their views to Council; in person and via a written submission, or both. Telephone submissions are also available by calling 0800 WDC INFO or 09 430 4200.

Feedback may be provided between 9am Wednesday 5 September and 5pm Friday 5 October 2018. All written submissions will be acknowledged. 

Individuals or organisations who wish to present their views on the proposal to Council in person may do so on 16 October 2018. Information on how to register is included in the Statements of Proposal.

This notice is given pursuant to sections 82, 83 and 86 of the Local Government Act 2002.
