Are you planning an arts-focused project or event that benefits our community?

The Creative Communities Scheme (Round 2, 2017-18) is now open for grant applications. The scheme is administered by Whangarei District Council and the round closes 9 February.

Eligibility criteria, further information and application forms are available on our website, from Council’s Customer Service counters or by contacting Council’s community funding officer.

Wanted: Youth Reps

  • Are you 16 – 20 years old and keen on the arts in all its forms?
  • Do you want governance experience on a community board?

We’re looking for a bright young person to be the voice for youth on our arts funding committee, the Creative Communities Scheme.

You’d be involved in assessing funding applications for a variety of arts projects, and will be working alongside leaders in the arts community to determine grant funding for the Whangarei district.

You’ll be comfortable critiquing funding applications and voicing your opinion.

There are two funding rounds per year when you’ll be involved, and each will require 5-10 hours of your time. It is interesting work and you’ll be well-supported.

Nominations close 31 January.

Nomination forms and further information are available from our customer service counters or on our our Funding and Grants pages on our website (link below).
