WDC acknowledges contribution of Ann Shaw

It is with deep regret that we note the passing of former Councillor Ann Shaw, who died on 16 February 2011 after a short illness.

Mrs Shaw was a Whangarei District Councillor in Pamela Peters’ Council from 2004-2007 and a Trustee of the Whangarei Art Museum for four years. We remember her as a tireless worker, always wanting the best for the Whangarei community and her own home community of Onerahi where she had a strong role in the Onerahi Community Association.  Generous and warm-hearted, she could also be feisty and determined to get her point across – but always for the benefit of those who needed it most.

Ann will be sorely missed, particularly by those in the community for whom she did so much.  We acknowledge her considerable contribution to Council from 2004–2007 and our thoughts are with Ann’s family at this time.

Deputy Mayor
