Whangarei District Council to offer assistance to Canterbury

 
Whangarei District Council offers its condolences and support to those affected by today’s Christchurch earthquake and is standing by to see what assistance it can offer, says Deputy Mayor Phil Halse.

“Like everyone who is watching this event unfold around the world, our hearts go out to everyone affected by it.  We will help in whatever way we can and are waiting to see how we can help.  New Zealand has good Civil Defence networks and we understand they are trying to come to grips with the situation and work out what is needed.

“We also feel for those Northlanders who have friends and family in Christchurch, and know this has been a very anxious time for them.”
