This page contains early information about the 2019 Christmas Festival.
Updated: 16/10/2019 12:00 a.m.

Dust off your carols, tune up your voice, it’s almost the season of song – and Anika Moa is going to lead the chorus at this year’s Whangārei Christmas Festival.

Whangārei’s Christmas Festival is being held on Saturday 30 November 2019 at Semenoff Stadium, a week earlier than usual to avoid clashing with the A&P Show on 7 December.

The FREE event for the whole community runs from 5:00pm - 9:30pm and gates will open at the family friendly time of 4:00pm.

Hosted by More FM's John and Flash, there will be loads of great on-stage entertainment including Anika Moa who will be headlining the festival.

Anika Moa is an Aotearoa multi-award-winning recording artist, children’s entertainer, television and radio presenter and māmā of four.

In a career spanning over 20 years, she has released six studio albums, including two wildly successful children’s albums, Songs For Bubbas, inspired by all the tamariki she keeps having.

Anika has joined forces with Stacey Morrison and Mike Puru on The Hits Drive Show and has her third bubbas album cleverly entitled, 'Songs For Bubbas 3' out at the end of 2019.

Anika will have 2 special performances on the night.

Earlier in the show Anika will get the littlies up dancing as she performs some of her favourites from her “Songs for Bubbas” albums and all her most popular hits at the end of the show.

This year’s Kiwi Christmas themed activities will include volleyball, a Santa’s Beach Grotto new this year, bouncy castles and face painting, all for free.

Glow sticks and products will be available for sale and the night will end with its traditional fireworks.
