Tarewa Road and Porowini Avenue - Work to finish in February 2019

This page contains information about the progress of the Tarewa Road and Porowini Avenue intersection upgrade.
Updated: 5/12/2018 12:00 a.m.

In the last few months, good progress has been made on the Tarewa Road and Porowini Avenue intersection upgrade and the job should be finished by February 2019.

The teams working on the job have widened the road, relocated cable and power, drainage, signals, and lighting and completed kerb, channel, footpath, driveway and wall construction.

Rather than push ahead with the main pavement work (reseal) during busiest time of the year, it has been deferred until the quieter period early in the new year.

The site will be tidied-up and traffic lanes will be to operate similar to the original configuration from 21 December 2018 to 7 January 2019.

Re-developing the new pavement will happen between 11 and 16 January 2019 and signs, pavement markings, signal commissioning and a final tidy-up will be completed by 22nd January 2018.

Some work will be done at night to reduce the inconvenience for drivers.

Electronic signs around the site will keep drivers up to date and access to Tarewa Road and Porowini Avenue will be open as usual.
