Horses on beaches are the hot topic for people who have responded to Council’s call for submissions on reviews of several bylaws.
1/07/2014 9:48 a.m.
With only four days to go to make a submission, 29 people have objected to a change to the Public Places Bylaw that proposes to restrict horse riding on beaches to Whananaki, Pataua and only two places at Ruakaka.
There have been no submissions on other changes that would affect cycling in the city, skateboarding and roller skating in public places, and cycling and begging in the Central Business District.
No submissions have been received on a proposal to revoke the Signs Control Bylaw and replace it with a Control of Advertising Signs Bylaw.
Copies of the proposed bylaws, and a summary of information, are available at Council offices at Forum North, Whangarei and at Ruakaka and at public libraries in Whangarei, Kamo, and Onerahi and the mobile library or by following this link:
Any submissions or enquiries should be addressed to Bylaw review submissions, Whangarei District Council, Private Bag 9023, Whangarei or you can email it to us at email@example.com.
