In addition to an international standard BMX track, Whangarei district caters for all the traditional sporting codes, such as rugby, soccer, cricket, hockey and netball.
Council is a key partner of Sport Northland which provides a variety of activities at Kensington Stadium, the ASB Leisure Centre and Whangarei's Aquatic Centre.
