This page contains information about our cemetery database search which allows people to search cemetery records and find information about their family and friends.
The database contains all records from Council-operated cemeteries in the district and is updated fortnightly.

What the database includes

The records contained in our online database are for the Maunu, Kamo (Ketenikau), Onerahi, Kioreroa and Ngunguru (Cape Horn) cemeteries.

There may also be incomplete records for a number of the district’s rural cemeteries but for up-to-date records please contact the individual cemetery boards.

Rural Cemeteries

Searching the database

Enter the information you know into the relevant boxes and click on the Search button.

The search results will display which match the information you have entered.

You can then get more information by clicking on a name in the list. You can view the details about that person such as full name, age, date of death, date of burial or cremation, type of burial and funeral director.

Privacy

Please note that the information provided is what is considered to be a public record but some information is excluded for reasons of privacy. If you have additional information that you wish to add to our records we are always happy to do that for you.
