These are the general eligibility rules which apply to all our funding. Each fund has additional criteria that relates to their specific purpose. These criteria can be found in the Funding Guide document and in the application guidelines for each round.
Eligible applicants
To be eligible, applicants must be:
Not for profit and have legal status (e.g. incorporated society, registered charity, or be working under an ‘umbrella’ group/organization which meets these criteria; note this is not required for the Creative Communities Scheme); and
Financially sound (e.g. display appropriate financial management and procedures, including having a good credit record) and
If previously funded by Council, have a positive track record with this funding (e.g. have provided any previously required reporting, and had this reporting accepted by Council).
What’s not eligible
Not eligible are applicants who are:
Government agencies, schools, for-profit businesses, or individuals (individuals can apply to the Creative Communities Scheme though),
Sufficiently self-funded or resourced,
Already a Council grant recipient for the current financial year.
Not eligible activities include those:
Where the primary purpose is to promote religious, political or commercial activity,
Considered to be the core business of another organization or agency,
That started prior to the closing date of the fund applied to.
Not eligible costs include:
Social functions
Fundraising
Catering
Travel and accommodation (outside the District)
Conference fees
Entry fees, judges fees, prize money, trophies or awards
Royalties
Retrospective expenses
Debt servicing, fines or disputes.
