Updated: 6/02/2016 12:00 a.m.

The Annual Operating Grant Fund is a non-contestable fund. It provides ongoing operational support for selected not for profit organisations that provide valued services to the District.

It has a rolling year-to-year funding cycle: organisations receive an operating grant for the coming financial year as well as an indicative funding figure for the following financial year.

This fund is non-contestable.

The fund’s quantum for each financial year is determined through Council’s Annual Plan.

How to apply - current recipients

There are currently fifteen organisations receiving these grants in Whangarei District. Each year these organisations are invited (in writing) to apply to have their indicative funding for the next year confirmed.

The Annual Operating Fund has one round per year with a closing date generally in February.

The fund opened in November 2015 when application packs (including the application form and required reporting template) were sent to the current recipients of these grants.

Applications closed on 5 February 2016.

The expected application amount is based off the previous year’s indicative figure.

How to apply - new entrants

First time applicants will enter to the Annual Operating Fund by invitation to the Transition Fund. This is currently in progress.

Not for profit organisations providing valued services to Whangarei District are invited to this fund each year. To be considered an organisation is expected to already have a strong and positive funding history with Council.
