A call to all young people in Whangārei

We're on the lookout for some awesome young people to be involved in the work we do at Council!

If you:

  • live in the Whangarei District
  • are aged between 15 – 24 years old
  • are available 4:00pm to 6:00pm on the second Wednesday of the month
  • like sharing your ideas and perspectives
  • want to help make Whangarei a better place for young people

We really, really, really want to hear from you!

Applications

Please complete an online application form (link below) or pick up a copy of the application form from our Customer Services Centre at Forum North.

If you're not sure whether this kaupapa is right for you or you want some help to fill in the form, give us a call.

Closing date for applications is 4:00pm on Friday 14 February 2020.

Key Dates for 2020 Recruitment

Friday 14 February 2020

  • 4:00pm - Applications close. No late applications can be accepted

Wednesday 19 February 2020

  • Applicants will be invited to take part in a group interview if they have been shortlisted

Wednesday 26 February 2020

  • 4:00pm to 6:00pm - A group interview will be held. Applicants are welcome to bring a support person

Saturday 7 March 2020

  • 10:00am to 12:00pm - Youth Advisory Group Induction morning

Wednesday 11 March 2020

  • 4:00pm to 6:00pm - Mihi whakatau and the first Youth Advisory Group meeting
 

What the Youth Advisory Group does

We meet once a month to discuss ways of helping to make Whangarei a great place for young people to live, learn and earn in.

Our purpose is to provide advice to Council from a youth perspective to help make Whangarei the ultimate living environment.
