Total Fire Ban in Whangarei District
Pursuant to section 22(2) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 Whangarei District Council declares a Prohibited Fire Season to be in force from Midnight Friday 1 January 2010 until further notice.
The Prohibited Season will remain in force until weather conditions and fire danger indicators warrant its uplifting and applies to all land in the Whangarei District except land administered by the department of Conservation where a prohibited fire season is already in force.
This notice cancels any fire permit issued for the period.
The lighting of any fire in the open air is prohibited.
